The Process
How do I work with a copywriter?
I can’t speak for all of us, but I can definitely let you know how to work with this copywriter.
Everyone loves a process, I hope you love mine.
STEP 1
CHAT
We’ll set up an initial 15-minute chat. Either over the phone, on Zoom or, location dependant, in person. This will allow us to scope out the project and find out a little more about your business and what you’re looking to achieve. If this is your first time working with a copywriter, this is a good opportunity to clarify anything you're unsure about.
STEP 2
PROPOSAL
Next, I’ll send you a proposal outlining the details of the job based on our discussion. This will also include a detailed quotation.
STEP 3
UPFRONT PAYMENT
Once you are happy with the proposal, you’ll pay a 50% upfront payment to secure the work.
STEP 4
BRIEF
This is where we get into the nitty gritty. We’ll go through the project together on another call. I might ask you a few more questions to get a full understanding of your company, what your objectives are, who your target audience are and anything else that will assist in producing dazzling copy. I’ll also ask for any brand guidelines or other assets that will help.
STEP 5
WORK
This is where the real fun starts! I’ll begin the first draft of your project, including any required research. All work is delivered in MS Word, or MS Excel for keyword research and SEO audits.
STEP 6
FEEDBACK AND REVISIONS
I’ll send the first draft over to you, and if you’re not totally happy, we can do up to two rounds of amends free of charge. I’ll use track changes on MS Word for amends and commentary.
STEP 7
SIGN OFF AND FINAL PAYMENT
Once everything has been reviewed and agreed upon, I’ll invoice you the final amount. Job done.
